A MAN was left needing stitches in hospital after he was struck with a bottle during an assault outside a Redditch pub.

The man was involved in a physical altercation with another man outside the Woodrow pub in Woodrow Centre at around 9.20pm on Monday, May 21.

He was then struck with a bottle, causing lacerations to his ear, and was taken to hospital where he received stitches.

Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses.

A spokesman said: "Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence.

"If you have any information, please call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 755 on 21 May 2018."

The suspect is described as a mixed race man, around 5ft 8ins or 5ft 9ins, of a slim build with black braided hair. He was believed to be wearing a grey baseball-type hooded top and black or blue jeans.
