A GROUP of students at a school in Redditch had a day to remember when they met their heroes during a special trip to watch the England rugby team train.

Year 9 Trinity High School students Luke Taylor, Finlay Dalby and Toby Singh joined Prince Harry and 10,000 other supporters to watch England take part in an open training session at Twickenham Stadium on Friday, February 16.

Supporters from grassroots clubs and schools from all over England, alongside local residents, attended the session as the squad continued preparations for their NatWest Six Nations game against Scotland at Murrayfield, which unfortunately ended in defeat.

The interactive session led by head coach Eddie Jones was particularly insightful as the coach explain the structure of the session throughout via microphone to the crowd.

And students were also given the chance to meet players including Ben Te’o, Chris Robshaw, and Mike Brown, after the match.

Headteacher Adrian Ward said “This was a fantastic opportunity for these three students.

“They are all avid rugby fans and players and to brush shoulders with their idols must have been so thrilling for them.”
