MORE than 400 people attended the 37th Royal Signals Job Fair in connection with Job Centre Plus.

The event, at Kohima House saw a wide range of companies attend to talk about career opportunists.

There were more than 30 booths at the fair, including the NHS and Diamond buses, and Redditch United Football Club.

Councillor Joe Baker, who attended the event, stressed the importance of supporting the efforts of these organisations in assisting Redditch residents back into work.

"Not only does it help the local economy but it gives people a sense of self pride to be able to find work and to be able to support themselves and their families," he said.

"We congratulate the efforts of the 37th Signals for their hard work and support of our town."

A spokesman from the 37th Royal Signals Job said it was a successful event.

"We had lots of interest in people wanting to join the Army (regular and reserve)," they said.
