RESIDENTS are being invited to swing into action and help local Syrian refugees.
Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcome Refugees (BRWR) has organised a barn dance on Saturday, November 4 from 7pm at Redditch Town Hall.
The aim is to raise money to help integrate Syrian families who have settled locally.
Proceeds will also go to People In Motion, a charity supporting people in refugee camps across France, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
John Cochrane, of BRWR, said:"Join us for an upbeat night of barn dancing and fundraising.
"The dance steps will be explained, so novices are welcome. Swing your partners, meet-up with friends, make new ones. Straw hats and check shirts are optional. We're all set to raise the roof."
Led by a professional caller, dances will be suitable for all, with live music performed by The Whole Caboodle band.
The evening costs £15 and includes a fish & chip supper (or vegetarian alternative).

Mr Cochrane added: "Places are limited, so please book early. It's a fun way to support BRWR and find out about the work we are doing."
