REDDITCH author and adventure runner Doug Richards will be giving a talk on his global adventures at The Abbey Hotel in Redditch.

Doug, 69, who plans to complete at least a half marathon on each of the seven continents when he runs in Antarctica in March of next year, will be giving the talk in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which is the chosen charity for the year for The Abbey Hotel.

“I give a lot of talks on my races around the world to various clubs and societies in the Midlands but most of these have a closed membership,” said Doug.

“This is an opportunity for anyone to hear what I have to say and hopefully inspire them to become more adventurous themselves in their own lives, whatever their interests.”

Doug, who recently returned from running a half marathon in the Australian Outback, has supported the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity since 2014 and has raised more than £3,500 for them with proceeds from his talks and his running exploits.

The talk is on October 13 at 8pm.

Entry is free, but people are asked to register at eventbrite.co.uk/e/running-hot-cold-talk-tickets-37992691162

A further opportunity to listen to Doug’s talk will be held at The Abbey Hotel on November 11.
