REDDITCH business, Vintage Stitches, is looking for self-employed knitters to join its venture creating knitted items from the 1940s and before.

The business started in March this year when Matchborough-based Sandy Higgins, and mum Kathy, decided to try and turn their love of historical knitting and other crafts into a business.

Now that business is thriving, and the pair are not only for knitting for vintage fashion lovers, but creating garments for museums, living history actors, theatres, and film companies.

Sandy said: “I can’t believe the overwhelming response from customers. What started as a few fashion knits, knitted by my mum, has grown massively. We are now creating items from all periods of history, and every day brings a new and exciting request.

"I really need my self-employed knitters, as I can take an order and pass the wool for knitting over to them, and be able to deliver back to customers in a couple of months. I would love to have more local people involved."

Anyone who thinks they can help can call Sandy on 07841 967830 or email sandy@vintage-stitches.co.uk.
