THOUSANDS of fun-seekers turned out in force to enjoy a weekend of music at Morton Stanley Festival.
Approximately 8,500 residents and visitors turned out at the weekend for the annual festival, which saw acts such as Manchester reggae sensation Jeremiah Ferrari, who was joined on the main stage by headliners Big Wolf Band, from Birmingham, and Bewdley’s psychedelic Arcadia Roots.
A wide array of stalls and activities were on offer including a featured DJ tent by sponsors Locked In Radio, Wilson’s Fair, classic car display, firework display and cuisine from around the world with a mini food festival.
There was even a group of ‘nuns’ that made an appearance and joined in the fun.
Councillor Pat Witherspoon, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “It was the best one yet and a huge well done to everyone involved in organising it.
“It was good to see such a variety of stalls with new exhibitors like the world famous kite maker and vintage clothing. It was a brilliant event and as always the perfect opportunity for traders, local bands, charities and community groups to showcase and provide a fabulous day out for residents and visitors."
Redditch Council is looking to get feedback from residents and visitors about how they would like the festival to look in the future.
