Worcester Foregate Street station has been re-opened following a water bottle being mistaken for a suspicious item on a train.

The station was briefly closed with services delayed including the 17.02 to Westbury and the 17.15 to Dorridge.

A member of train staff reported a 'suspicious package' on a train but the station has now been re-opened as nothing was found.

Whilst the station has been re-opened, London Midland said that disruption could continue until 6pm.

The station was closed for around 25 minutes in total and trains are currently being delayed by around 15 minutes according to National Rail.
