AN ALCESTER schoolboy braved the shave to raise hundreds of pounds for Macmillan, to support his two aunts who lost their hair when they were diagnosed with cancer.

Brave Lee Haycock, 12, who has just completed Year 8 at St Benedict’s Catholic School, took on the challenge in support of his aunts Kerry Haycock and Louise Wainwright.

Kerry was diagnosed with a brain tumour five years ago, while Louise was diagnosed with breast cancer just over a year ago.

Lee was cheered on by his family and friends as he got his hair cut by James Dudley at The Barber Shop on Alcester’s High Street on July 24, raising a super £125 for Macmillan.

He said: "Thank you everyone for supporting and sponsoring me. I really wasn't expecting to raise this much!"

The Barber Shop donated Lee’s regular hair cut price to his cause.

And with donations still coming in, Lee hopes to take his final tally to more than £200.
