A FEAST of free live music was on offer in Redditch town centre on Saturday as part of the third annual Redditch Music Festival.

Some 20 bands, solo artists and duos performed throughout as part of the festival, which also included the latest bandstand event.

The live music started at midday with performances taking place at outdoor locations around the town centre, including St Stephen’s Church and the bandstand.

A number of musical acts performed including retro punk band Voodoo Club, original rock band Mantara, electro-acoustic group Wychwood, guitar hero Stuart Woolfenden, and girl group The Violettes.

Food was also on offer from outlets including The Little New York Burger Co. and Shake Shack ‘gourmet hotdogs’ and there was children's activities including a bouncy castle, face painting and craft workshops.

The event ran until 4pm but there was more live music on offer in the evening from venues around the town centre including Black Tap on Church Green East, The Golden Cross on Unicorn Hill and The Sportsman's Arms in Peakman Street.

Leader of Redditch Council Bill Hartnett said: "It was a great day. Thanks goes to all the organisers for making the day a success."

The festival was organised by local musician Steve Barnes, with support from Redditch Borough Council and Redditch Town Centre Partnership.
