ALVECHURCH Dramatic Society have a tasty comedic treat in store for audiences as they present Mr Grimwhip's Sandwiches.

The courtroom drama with funny bits, written and directed by Society member Dave Howard, provides an opportunity for the audience to act as a jury.

An Alvechurch Dramatic Society spokesman said: "When poor Clare Swann is apparently murdered by an exploding sandwich, suspicion falls on quiet newcomer Oscar Banicki.

"As an outsider in a tight-knit community, Oscar had struggled to fit in but seemed to have found a friend in Clare.

"Now, he stands accused in a rather unusual court of law, presided over by a decidedly eccentric judge.

"Will the case be proven against him, or is someone else up to mischief? Can the local café gossips be trusted?

"How is the local dramatic society involved? Will the prosecution and defence counsel come to blows?

"Presented through a series of flashbacks combined with scenes set in the Court, this is a comedy drama with a difference.

"Not only will this show feature an unusual traverse staging, it will also provide the opportunity for some of our audience to act as jurors. Guilty or innocent? You decide."

The production staged at Alvechurch Village Hall will run from Thursday, May 11 to Saturday, May 13, at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £7, or £6 for concessions. To book visit The Lounge, Alvechurch, phone 0121 447 7071 or email: ads.alvechurch@gmail.com.
