AN extremely humorous one-man, one act play is the recipe for a truly entertaining night when Feckenham welcomes Jesus My Boy.

Worcester Repertory Company will bring the show, starring Jonathan Darby and directed by Chris Jaeger, to St John The Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 5 at 7.30pm.

The audience can meet Joseph, just about the worst carpenter in the area, and Mary his wife, who announces that she is pregnant, but not with his child.

Mary's child grows up to have a remarkable talent with wood, lending further weight to the idea that Joseph may not be the father.

But the young man has more important things to do than make furniture, he must set out on the road to his destiny; an agonising death followed by the most remarkable set of events the world has ever seen.

A Feckenham Parish Club spokesman said: "This is a stunning one-man play, the story of Jesus seen through the eyes of Joseph, an ordinary and down-to-earth man, dismayed about how his image is later portrayed in Christian art work."

The show was previously performed in the West End by international star Tom Conti.

After the show, there will be wine and soft drinks for sale and an opportunity to meet Jonathan Darby.

Tickets costing £10 are available  obtained from Feckenham Village Shop, the Rose and Crown PH Feckenham, Church Members, Worcester Live 01905 611 427 worcesterlive.co.uk or on the door.
