YOUNGSTERS at St Augustine’s High School will be going out of this world for a performance of a 1950s sci-fi classic.
Pupils will be performing Return To The Forbidden Planet, a jukebox musical by playwright Bob Carlton based on Shakespeare's The Tempest and the 1956 science fiction film Forbidden Planet.
Described as Shakespeare's forgotten rock and roll masterpiece, it is filled with well know rock n roll hits such as Great Balls of Fire, All Shook Up, Good Vibrations, and many more.
It features a roller skating robot, a teenager in love, a love-struck chef, the enigmatic Captain Tempest, and a mad scientist who wants to take over the world.
The show takes place at Saint Augustine's Theatre Wednesday, March 22 starting 7pm, Thursday, March 23 at 7pm, and finally Friday, March 24 at 6pm.
Tickets cost £5 and are available from the school reception.
