REDDITCH Council leader Bill Hartnett has been nominated for a prestigious national award.
Cllr Hartnett has been nominated for the Positive Role Model award at the National Diversity Awards, which celebrate a new generation of role models for the United Kingdom.
The leader, who has worked in local government for 30 years, said he was "humbled".
In that time he has devoted himself to helping the community and groups irrespective of race, faith, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability and culture.
