SNOW may fall in Worcestershire this week as the Met Office issues a weather warning for the county.

Earlier this week it looked like the county would escape the predicted flurries for the rest of the country.

However, the Met Office has now issued a weather warning for snow which runs from 10am on Thursday to 9pm.

Do not dust off your sledges or skis just yet though as there is only a small possibility Bromsgrove, Kidderminster and Redditch will see snowflakes.

Forecasters warned there is a small chance of snow settling and causing disruption to road, rail and air services as well as interruptions to power supplies.

Associated heavy rain and strong winds may also prove additional hazards.

The Met Office chief forecaster said: "If the area of heavy rain moves further north, this would pull cold air into the system and bring snow to parts of southern England and south Wales.

"At the same time heavy rain will likely persist in some areas along with the potential for some locally strong winds."
