A PROJECT to help encourage healthy eating and living has been short listed for a public vote in Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative.
The project, which would see spare land in Studley transformed into a bountiful garden, comes from charity Where Next which helps people with special needs achieve their full potential.
A spokesman from the charity said: "We applied for funding for our Where Next Spernal Edible Garden Project to enable the clearing of unused ground and construction of 10 raised beds to enable our Spernal clients to plant, grow, harvest and cook fruit and vegetables as part of our healthy eating and lifestyles training."
The Tesco scheme will see three community groups or projects awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p per carrier bag charge.
The public will now vote in stores who should receive the £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awards.
People can vote at a number of Tesco stores in Stratford-on-Avon.
