RESIDENTS and businesses are being urged to "take another look" at Redditch as part of a campaign to promote the town.

A series of eight videos have been launched on social media to demonstrate the range of culture, shopping, countryside, transport links and amenities which Redditch has to offer.

The campaign is part of a wider ‘Promoting Redditch’ initiative which aims to change residents’ perceptions of the borough and attract new businesses to the area.

It followed a recommendation from the Redditch Economic Theme Group which is made up of Redditch Council, partners and local businesses.

Going forward the council hopes to get businesses involved and ask leaders why Redditch is a great place to do business.

Council Leader Bill Hartnett said: “As we go about our daily routines we sometimes forget to take a step back and revel in what Redditch has to offer.

“People may think the Borough boasts a lot of buildings and industry, but if you take another look the settings are very green. We even have world class art tucked away in our shopping centre.

“We want to keep on promoting Redditch so these short videos are hopefully the first of many.”
