CHRIS Evans led the tributes to the late Sir Terry Wogan at a packed service at Westminster Abbey, saying: "He will always be the best."

The unforgettable Irish brogue of the broadcaster - who died in January following a battle with cancer - could be heard at the service, which opened with recordings from Sir Terry's archive.

Evans, who inherited millions of Sir Terry's listeners when he took over the Radio 2 breakfast show, told the congregation: "Terry Wogan wasn't the best. He is the best and he will always be the best."

THE MTV Europe Music Awards nominations are out, and Beyonce and Justin Bieber are leading the pack with five nods each.

Lemonade star Beyonce and Love Yourself singer Justin have been shortlisted for five awards each, with Adele close behind them on four nominations.

Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd could all be looking at multiple wins, too, after finding themselves listed in three categories each.

Beyonce is up for best US act, best video for Formation, best female, best live act and biggest fans, while Justin has been named for best Canadian act, best song with Sorry, best male, best pop, and goes up against Beyonce for biggest fans.

THE executive producer of West End musical Wicked has admitted he did not think the show would last as long as it has, as the production celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Wicked tells the backstory of the Wizard of Oz’s witches Elphaba and Glinda before they became known as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

It has gone on to become an international success, and is the eighth longest-running show currently playing in the West End.

CORONATION Street may have been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons recently, but it’s done the soap’s chances absolutely no harm at the Inside Soap Awards.

The ITV series has come out on top in the nominations with a total of 18 nods, more than any other programme, despite controversy over the weekend when actor Marc Anwar, who played Sharif Nazir, was sacked for a series of racist tweets.

However, Corrie are out in front as far as the awards go, with its live episode and the shocking Callum murder plot in contention for some of the trophies up for grabs.
