THE Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2016 took place on Sunday night, and several of the year’s biggest TV shows were awarded a number of top gongs, including Game Of Thrones and Making A Murderer.

The prestigious awards ceremony – which was held a week ahead of the Primetime Emmy Awards – celebrates the technical and behind-the-scenes achievements in television programming and took place over two nights.

Popular fantasy drama series Game Of Thrones was the biggest winner on the night, taking nine awards including Outstanding Costumes for a Period/Fantasy Series, Limited Series or Movie, Outstanding Special Visual Effects and Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie.

ROY Orbison fans will soon be able to add the artist’s first full career-spanning anthology to their collections.

Roy Orbison – The Ultimate Collection will be comprised of 26 tracks covering four decades of his back catalogue, starting from his early days in the 1950s through to his comeback in the 1980s.

The compilation album, which has been created by the late singer’s sons and their company Roy’s Boys LLC, will feature solo efforts and tracks from Roy’s time with supergroup The Traveling Wilburys.

TRANSPARENT star Jeffrey Tambor has claimed Caitlyn Jenner should not be held as a “figurehead” for the transgender community.

The Emmy award-winning actor, who plays transgender woman Maura Pfefferman on the Amazon Prime show, said it was a “mistake” to consider Caitlyn as more than “just a person”.

A CHARITY set up after Amy Winehouse’s death to warn young people about the dangers of drink and drugs has called on the Government to use its prevention programmes in all secondary schools.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation wants ministers to support a national roll-out of their resilience drive to combat substance abuse.

The Rehab singer had a blood alcohol level more than five times the drink-drive limit when she was found dead in 2011.

TV presenter Charlie Webster has told how she had a conversation with “Death” after contracting a rare form of malaria in Brazil.

The 33-year-old told The Sun that she is still traumatised by her ordeal, when she was placed in a medically induced coma as doctors struggled to work out what caused her vital organs to collapse.

Charlie fell ill during the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympics and admitted herself to hospital thinking that she was dehydrated.

But after her condition rapidly deteriorated, a doctor told the Team GB ambassador: “We need you to know that you are dying. Get hold of your family.”

Charlie, who became ill after completing a 3,000-mile charity cycle ride from London to Rio, said that she had no words to describe how much pain she was in.
