SALSA dancing is set to bring Latin American flamboyance to a fundraising night in Oldbury.

Sandwell Mayor Councillor Julie Webb is hosting a salsa night in aid of her charities for the year, Sandwell Parents for Disabled Children and Carers Sandwell.

She said: “It is going to be a brilliant night to raise money for two amazing causes.

“We want to create more awareness and acknowledge the remarkable work parents of disabled children and carers in Sandwell do on a daily basis, sometimes without getting the credit they deserve. This is Sandwell’s way of saying thank you.”

The evening features free salsa dance taster sessions and demonstrations as well as salsa-themed refreshments including wraps and dips.

The bar will also be open at the event at Oldbury Royal British Legion, Windsor Road, on Thursday October 20 at 7pm.

Cllr Webb added that beginners are welcome as the steps will be walked through by the salsa professionals, so everyone can take part.

Tickets, priced £8, are limited so need to be booked in advance from the Big House, Oldbury, or by calling 0121 569 2185.
