NATIONAL soft furnishing giant Dunelm will open its first store in Redditch later this year.

The homewares retailer will open in Grove Street on October 3 and will bring more than 30 new jobs to town.

The new store, previously the Staples building, will also include a café for customers offering tea, coffee, cold drinks, sweet treats and lunches.

The store is undergoing a £1.5 million pound investment and will offer more than 20,000 home furnishing products across homewares, furniture and garden.

Dunelm Redditch store manager, Mark Tomkins, said: “We are looking forward to becoming a new neighbour to the Redditch community. There is a strong retail offering within the town but we’ve spotted a gap in the market for Dunelm’s extensive collection of homewares and hope we can cater for the diverse range of shoppers within the community.

“We have an exciting opening day planned and we hope the local community will join us."

He added: "In the meantime, we are looking for enthusiastic members of staff to join us as we become a part of the community and have a range of jobs available from sales assistants to team leaders. Those interested should visit our website for further information.”
