CONTROVERSIAL plans to relocate Dudley Museum and Art Gallery to the borough archives in Tipton Road are set to go ahead after a scrutiny board councillors backed the move.

During a meeting on Monday (July 18), the overview and scrutiny management board, which includes a cross-section of councillors from Dudley’s three main parties, “overwhelmingly” voted in favour of the relocation, despite thousands of people signing a petition in opposition.

A 68-YEAR-OLD Bromsgrove woman says she is lucky to be alive after her husband saved her from drowning when she fell into the River Severn.

Margaret Arthur and her 70-year-old husband Tony were staying at their park home in Lenchford Meadow Park in Worcester on July 3 when Margaret tripped over a chair and plunged 12 feet into the river.

A SHELTER in Brinton Park has been damaged by “mindless” vandals twice in the last week.

Wyre Forest District Council confirmed that the seating at the front of the loop shelter, near to the skate park in Brinton Park, was ripped from the ground on Sunday, July 10.

A MAN has been warned and fined by police after he was suspected of playing Pokemon Go while driving in Stourbridge.

A 27-year-old was stopped in Birmingham Street, near Stourbridge ring road, at about 12.30pm yesterday (Monday, July 18), for driving while using his mobile phone.
