WEST Midlands Ambulance Service felt the pressure today (July 19) as they experience more calls than usual in the hot weather.
Paramedics were called out to hundreds of reported emergencies and ‘111’ incidents throughout the day.
Their busiest hour was from 4pm as they received an incredible 210 ‘999’ calls – way above the usual number. Student paramedic Natalie Port even tweeted this was the most she’d seen in a single hour.
Wow - 210 calls in one hour is the most I've ever seen! Please look after yourselves & each other in this heat! https://t.co/k5vyF3zW8P

The service tweeted the graphic above to highlight the difference and also issued important advice, urging people to stay safe and look after others, including their animals.
This includes motorists being urged to carry a bottle of water with them on their way home, in case they get caught in congestion.
As for the weather tonight and tomorrow, well there temperatures will still be warm – to say the least.
Tonight will be around 22 degrees Celsius and tomorrow could see highs of 25 degrees Celsius. But what out for those thunderstorms.
