MORE than £5,300 has been raised for the Primrose Hospice at its annual summer fete.

The event, on Saturday, was officially opened by BBC Midlands Today presenter Joanne Malin, and included craft stalls, children’s activities, a classic car area, and chill out tent.

There was also Tardebigge Cider, Retro Lilly Ice Cream Van, and even a Prosecco van from the Village Catering Company.

Hundreds turned up including a special appearance from the crew at Bromsgrove Fire Station.

Emma Williams, community fundraiser for the charity, said: "The summer fete was an absolutely fantastic afternoon, with visitors coming along and simply enjoying themselves and having fun. We had music in the garden with people lazying around and singing along, it really did have a festival summer fun feeling.

"Our main aim was to open our doors up for people to come along and see for themselves what the Primrose Hospice is all about, we had queues into the car park we were that busy."

She added: "We're really extremely happy how the event went and we are overwhelmed with how many people came. We would like to thank everyone who came along to see us and to those that helped out on the day and supported us."

The money raised will go toward offering advice and support to cancer patients and their families in the north Worcestershire area.
