A MANAGING director who led the Advertiser to award success has retired from the company after 17 years.
Trevor Sallis stepped down from his role as managing director of the Midlands South division of Newsquest - which publishes titles including the Redditch and Bromsgrove Advertiser newspapers - on Friday, July 1.
The 59-year-old worked in the newspaper industry for 35 years, taking on roles in Gloucestershire, Derby, Hampshire, Newport and finally Stourbridge.
He moved to the Midlands to look after the Worcester and Hereford Division of Newsquest in 2009, and in 2015 the Worcester Division was named Newsquest Publishing Centre of the Year 2014.
He said: "If I'm going to miss anything, it is going to be the people I have worked with. I wish everyone the best of luck in the future and just embrace the change that is going to come.
"It has been a brilliant experience and I will go away with a lot of fond memories."
He plans to spend his retirement with his children and grandchildren.
