A 49-YEAR-OLD woman has been released on bail after a man died from a serious head injury in Redditch.

David Simon McTighe, aged 43, was found dead at his home on Seymour Drive last Monday, June 13.

A woman arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, June 21.

West Mercia Police extended the time they could question  the woman but she was bailed on Friday, June 24 until October.

Police were called to the property in the Abbeydale area of Redditch by the ambulance service at around 1.40am.   

A post-mortem examination found Mr McTighe's injury to be suspicious, prompting a police investigation.

Detective Inspector Jim Bayliss said: "We are in the early stages of investigating the circumstances leading to David's death and we are keen to trace anyone who knows him or who may have seen or heard from him between Sunday, June 5 and Monday, June 13.

"We are appealing to the local community to come forward with any information, even if it appears insignificant, which could help us piece together David's movements and activities before his death."
