RESIDENTS are being invited the Palace Theatre to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday in truly patriotic and nostalgic style with the forthcoming production of 90 Glorious Years.

This show will cover nine decades of Her Majesty’s illustrious life, from the roaring 20s, the fabulous 40s, the rocking 50s and the swinging 60s, more recent show favourites, a rousing selection from Last Night of the Proms, and a flag waving finale paying tribute to the veterans of her Armed Forces.

Joining Neil Sands for his production of 90 Glorious Years are Gemma Turner – whose captivating voice has drawn comparisons with that of Katherine Jenkins – and Stars In Their Eyes winner Angie Diggens, two supremely talented singers who are no strangers to the West End stage.

The Golden Times Duo will be providing backing music for the performance with stirring renditions of many of Her Majesty’s favourites.

Their versatile repertoire includes numbers made famous by the likes of Tommy Steele, Shirley Bassey, Vera Lynn, Max Bygraves and many more.

Neil explained more about the appeal of his musical matinee performances and of what promises to be a wonderful afternoon of musical delights.

“These shows give what many of a certain age regard as proper entertainment," he said.

"It's a chance to come out during the day and have a fun filled afternoon, bringing back many happy memories and still be home for tea time. The wonderful voices, stunning costumes and good old fashioned fun on offer will make this the perfect nostalgic way to celebrate this historic occasion.

90 Glorious Years is on Friday, May 13 at 2pm.

Tickets are available in person or at the box office on 01527 65203 priced £15 (£14 discount) inclusive of booking fee £1 per seat up to a maximum £4.
