A JUNIOR doctor who works at the Alexandra Hospital is facing an investigation after he claimed all Tory MPs should be shot.

Dr Usman Ahmed, an orthopaedic surgeon who works for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS trust, put a foul-mouthed rant on Facebook while sharing a Jeremy Corbyn video.

He said that he has “always hated the Conservatives” and that the video showed him everyone in the Houses of Parliament "should all be shot”.

He added that those "self-righteous" Tories should be "given hell from the whole country" and that a revolution was needed.

The outburst was seen by Redditch MP Karen Lumley who wrote to the hospital trust and West Mercia Police to express her concerns.

The trust said they are currently investigating.

Chris Tidman, chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said: “Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has been made aware of posts on the social media site Facebook allegedly posted by one of our junior doctors and we confirm that we have also received complaints about the posts.

“We understand that the views expressed may have been distressing to patients and the wider community and we can confirm that the matter is being treated seriously under the trust’s policies

“The trust would like to make clear that the comments on Facebook do not in any way represent the views and values of the organisation.”

A spokesman from West Mercia Police said they are looking into the matter.

Dr Ahmed has since apologised for his "foolish remark".

Writing on Facebook yesterday Wednesday, March 9, he said: "I wish to apologise unreservedly for a foolish remark made in the heat of the moment; both for the upset it caused and also for it detracting from the real issues of concern of an unsafe contract for millions of patients and their doctors.

"Once again my sincerest apologies."
