SCHOOLS in the Trinity pyramid, the largest pyramid of schools in the town, have said they are committed to retaining Redditch's traditional three-tier system.

All 10 schools released a statement saying that they have one goal - to provide an outstanding education for students.

The statement said: "Transitions between the different phases, whether this be first to middle or middle to high, are carefully planned to ensure children are able to make the move to their new schools feeling confident, happy and prepared.

"This gives all our students a smooth journey from nursery to sixth form.

"In choosing the Trinity pyramid for your children you can be assured that all the schools have the same common goal. Three tiers, together, one goal – outstanding education."

Last October principal of St Augustine’s Catholic High School Anthony Quinn and Trinity High School headteacher Adrian Ward gave a united front to keep Redditch’s three-tier education system rather than adapt to a two-tier system.

It comes after controversial plans by town schools to adopt a two-tier education system.

It led to Redditch MP Karen Lumley hosting several meetings between local headteachers and the regional schools commissioner Pank Patel.
