PROSPECTIVE engineers are being invited join a free training scheme at a Redditch design and manufacturing company.

Following on from the opening of the Training Academy at Heartbeat Manufacturing last year the company, which specialises in retail display innovation, is again offering a 16-week programme to provide introductory skills and work experience in the engineering field to people aged 16 to 24.

The course, which is running from the Arthur Street site, still has five places available and there will be progression opportunities and full apprenticeships available in the company.

A spokesman for Heartbeat UK said: "We have had 83 per cent success rate in our first group with many of these progressing to further training and qualifications with us.

"As an employer-led provider we are proud to be supporting the local and national skills agenda by tackling the skills gap in engineering and bringing industry and young people together."

Prospective trainees have until Friday, February 12 to apply.
