Football – HALESOWEN Town will have to be at their very best when Salford City visit the Grove, says manager John Hill.

The Yeltz will welcome promotion hopefuls Salford, famously backed by former Manchester United team-mates Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, this Saturday (3pm).

City are also set to be followed by the cameras to Old Hawne Lane due to filming begins for the second instalment of a BBC documentary about the club.

Boxing - ANDY Robinson has called out the best middleweight fighters in the country.

The Redditch puncher, nicknamed ‘D’Animal’, who won the Midlands super middleweight title last year, has dropped down a weight division and is keen to land a big shot at a title.

He had hoped to score a fight with Midlands rival Tommy Langford but those thoughts faded after he set up a clash against Lewis Taylor for the vacant European title.

Hales lost the vital clash 28-10 at Wassell Grove last Saturday when the league’s second and third-placed sides did battle.

Football - KIDDERMINSTER Harriers’ relegation battle reaches a make or break moment as they face a must-win clash at fellow bottom four outfit Boreham Wood on Saturday.

The Aggborough outfit look up at the rest of the Vanarama National League and if they are to start clawing back the 16 point deficit from safety they need to start winning games now.

With 18 matches left, Harriers must taste only their third victory of a deeply frustrating campaign at Boreham Wood.

Running - STOURBRIDGE Running Club is preparing to hosts its biggest race of the year this weekend.

The Stourbridge Stagger and ladies 7K race will be held this Sunday at 10.30am. The event takes place at Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge.

Places for the 10k Stagger are now full but there are still some places left in the Ladies 7K race.

Tennis - A WEEKEND of mixed results for Bromsgrove Tennis Club saw honours even in two matches against Droitwich.

The Mixed D team took on Droitwich D on Saturday in Division Six and ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.

Captain Lisa Rushton paired up with Bruce Turner to secure two victories.
