FROM star fruit and physalis to papaya and pomegranate, residents at a care home in Redditch have been making sure they get their five a day with exotic fruit tasting sessions.
Residents at Brambles Residential Care Home in Birchfield Road recently enjoyed sampling delicious fruits from around the globe – as well as those closer to home.
During the fruit tasting session many tried varieties they have never tasted before.
Peter Worwood, who is 71, said: “It was a nice change to try different fruits.”
Denise Smith, 73, added: “I love my fruit and usually eat bananas, but I liked the kiwi fruit.”
The home’s manager, Margaret Hook added: “Our residents are very adventurous and love to eat healthy food, so they really enjoyed exploring new tastes and textures.”
