VBG Fairfield suffered a shock in the Premier Cup as they were stunned by Alcester Town, who recorded a 3-2 win.

Fairfield had been the dominant force in the competition but they are out after being caught out by an Alcester fight back.

The Warwickshire side were 1-0 down after 20 minutes but equalised just before half-time when Dean Hay’s 25-yard free-kick crashed home.

Sam Bennett’s deflected shot put the visitors ahead before Lewis Marston found himself in a great position eight yards out and made no mistake for 3-1.

VBG fought back, scoring with about three minutes left on the clock, but Alcester held out for a great victory to set up a home clash against Oak Tree Sporting.

The winners of that game will play in the semi-finals against WCT Youth Raiders.

In the LMS Shield, games in Group A and Group D respectively were dead rubbers with neither of the sides able to qualify.

Stoke Sporting beat The Grove 5-0, thanks to goals from Pete Warman (2), Phil Beech, Nick Baker and Jon Snell.

Wychbold RBL beat AFC Northfield 6-3, with the result never being in doubt after Wychbold raced into a 4-0 lead.

Ciaran Sheehan was the Wychbold hero, netting four, while Colin Rudge and Josh Somers also scored.
