A VETERAN Northern Irish punk band defied safety concerns to perform in trouble-hit Paris, telling the crowd: “The world has their hearts with you.”

Belfast four-piece Stiff Little Fingers, who rose to prominence during the late 1970s, said it seemed like “the thing to do” to continue with the gig as planned.

They previously said their experience of the Troubles and bands not coming to their native Belfast during the conflict prompted their decision to carry on with the show.

THE latest James Bond blockbuster Spectre has become one of the UK’s top 10 highest-grossing films after just three weeks.

Since opening on October 26, Spectre has taken £79.59 million at UK cinemas, according to figures from Sony.

That’s more than the total box office for recent smash hits Mamma Mia, Toy Story 3 or Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

BBC Breakfast presenter Graham Satchell has thanked fans for their “kind tweets” after he broke down in tears on air.

He was reporting on the Paris terror attacks aftermath, from in front of Paris’ Place de la Republique, where flowers and messages have been left. He started the broadcast saying: “The feeling here in Paris has certainly changed significantly since we arrived on Saturday, when Paris was virtually a ghost town.”

ZAYN Malik was never the loudest member of One Direction but since quitting the band back in March he has stayed very tight-lipped indeed.

But the brooding Bradford boy has finally broken his silence in an interview with Fader magazine, and it looks like it will be worth the wait.

In a teaser clip released by Fader, Zayn rides around shirtless on a motorbike, jumps over a fence and sits staring wistfully into a fire.
