NEW Harriers head coach Dave Hockaday watched his side produce a Jekyll and Hyde display as they suffered defeat at Moss Rose.

Kidderminster paid the price for an out of sorts first half display as Tony Diagne and Danny Rowe punished poor defending at corners to hand Macclesfield a deserved lead.

But with the cameras from BT Sport watching, the Reds improved and Jordan Murphy scored on his debut to give the game a more respectable score line.

But Hockaday faces a difficult tasks as Harriers winless start to the Vanarama National League stretched to 16 games, a run which leaves them bottom of the table.

DESPITE a number of first- team regulars missing through injury and unavailability, Alcester still managed to run in 12 tries in this one-sided match to record their biggest win of the season.

The Kings Coughton outfit dominated from start to finish against a Warley team who struggled to compete.

Tom Pedley, playing in his first game of the season, opened the scoring with a try early on before No.8 Meka Pieri followed up with two scores in quick succession, both of which were converted by full back Josh Godson.

A BRILLIANT first half free-kick from forward Justin Richards was enough for Stourbridge to book their place in the next round of the FA Cup at the expense of Black Country neighbours Rushall Olympic.

The Glassboys started the better of the two sides during the early exchanges and were soon racking up the corner count.

However, it was the visitors that nearly drew first blood when Jamie Spencer rattled Lewis Solly's bar with a lofted effort after getting in between Stuart Pierpoint and Dan Scarr at the heart of the home side's back line.

But Stour's early pressure eventually told when forward Justin Richards curled in a sublime free-kick from just outside the area after eight minutes.

STOURBRIDGE'S Sam Eggington will now take on Dale Evans in Birmingham on Saturday, October 17.

Evans replaces the injured Frankie Gavin for the bout and lands a golden opportunity to get his hands on Eggington’s British and Commonwealth Welterweight titles.

Eggington and Evans met in a thrilling toe-to-toe Prizefighter quarter-final in Wolverhampton in January 2013, where the Welshman came out on top.

The champion is eager to host his former foe in his first defence of the British belt and second of his Commonwealth strap – and warned ‘Big Boy’ that he’s a different beast from the loss he suffered in Prizefighter.
