THE mother of Jade Hatt’s victim has said she is disgusted with the justice system and is planning to appeal after the babysitter was spared custody despite being found guilty of having sex with a child.

The Swindon Advertiser reports that the mother of the 11-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said she felt utterly violated after she heard what the 21-year-old babysitter had done to her son.

Last November, Hatt had been entrusted with the care of the boy while he was off school, but one day stripped him of his clothes and had sex with him.

Despite the boy admitting he did not enjoy the encounter and knew it was wrong, his father told the court his son was sex mad, and completely unaffected.

His mother says she is appalled by the comments, and blamed her ex for helping their son’s abuser avoid a prison sentence.

“He is not sex mad, he is 11 years old,” she said.

“Of course he is interested in girls but that is how it is in the playground, it is girls his own age.

“He is just a normal boy. He would rather be playing his computer games.”

Hatt was given a six-month jail term suspended for two years with supervision and told to register as a sex offender for seven years. Read the original court report here.

Judge Mousley also imposed a sexual harm prevention order banning her from having unsupervised contact with young boys for two years.
