A REDDITCH great-grandmother with a love for parties celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by friends and family.
Doris Hill, of Hollyberry Close, Winyates Green, enjoyed a lunchtime meal with her family followed by a gathering at her house at the weekend.
As part of the festivities, Mrs Hill, who was born on October 3 1915, received a telegram from the Queen.
She moved from Halesowen to Redditch during the war and throughout this period worked in offices. She has lived in the town ever since.
After marrying her husband, Harold, they spent 50 years of wedded bliss together before he sadly passed away.
The couple had one son, named Peter, who married his wife Jeanette and together they had three children Andrew, July and James.
She also has four great-grandchildren Callum, Charlie, Jacob and Toby.
