THE market development manager of a Redditch company proved fearless in his pursuit to raise money for Macmillan recently took part in the Brave the Save campaign

A regular Movember enthusiast, Simon Skillings from Utilitywise, decided to turn his charity fundraising exploits on its head by shaving his head rather than growing his follicles.

By braving the shave and raising money, Mr Skillings has played his part to ensure Macmillan Cancer Support can be there for people with cancer and their families.

So far this national campaign has hit £1,523,604.82 and every penny raised will help Macmillan give people with cancer and their families the specialised support they need, when they need it most.

To raise even more money for the charity, Utilitywise, based at Ravensbank Business Park, Redditch held a dress down day and baked and sold delicious cakes. The opportunity to shave Mr Skilling's head wasn’t overlooked and colleague Adam Baker took the honours after donating a significant sum for the privilege.

Mr Skillings was delighted with the support he received and said: “I’m over the moon with the amount I’ve been able to raise and really appreciate the effort and support of my friends, family and colleagues at Utilitywise.

"I’d especially like to thank Ashley Guise, managing director of Utilitywise Corporate Division for agreeing to match the total I’d raised bringing the total donation for Macmillan to £1,746.60.”
