FILM director Tim Burton is to switch on this year’s Blackpool Illuminations.

Burton, whose hit movies include Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, will perform the honours in front of a crowd of 20,000 people on Friday September 4.

He has been a regular visitor to the resort in recent years, shooting scenes for his latest film Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children and the video for The Killers song Here With Me.

Dorret Conway has vowed to keep baking, despite becoming the third contestant to exit the Great British Bake Off.

Her exit was less of a surprise for the public after judge Mary Berry accidentally revealed who was going home during an interview with Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2 yesterday morning, mentioning the names of the first three bakers to leave the Bake Off tent – which included poor Dorret.

The accountant from Preston was eliminated after presenting Mary and her co-judge Paul Hollywood with a walnut and stilton soda bread that “could have been more intense”, as well as a “showstopper” which failed to impress the judges.

TV personality and singer Peter Andre is the seventh celebrity who will appear on Strictly Come Dancing 2015.

Peter described Strictly as “an incredible show” and said: “I’ve always loved watching it on TV and to be honest I’m flattered to have been asked to take part before, but due to certain work commitments was unable to.

“I now feel the time is right to give it a go – everything has just clicked into place to do it this year. Wish me luck please… argh!”

Margot Robbie has apparently taken up a sideline as a tattoo artist to get in practice for her role in Suicide Squad.

The Wolf Of Wall Street star has been pictured in costume as her DC Comics movie character Harley Quinn, tattooing “SKWAD” on someone’s forearm, thought to be director David Ayer.

Cast mates Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman and Suicide Squad director David have apparently all got matching “Skwad” tattoos, and Margot’s character has her own tattoo parlour in the movie.

Nicki Minaj’s waxwork at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas has been put under guard after visitors began posing for inappropriate photos.

The museum was forced to take action after several people posted photos to social media, showing them behaving suggestively with Nicki’s likeness, who is depicted crawling on all fours in skimpy clothing.

The pose is based on her music video for her hit song Anaconda, and was approved by the pop star – who Instagrammed a photo of the new waxwork alongside a still from the video.
