A YOUNG Redditch man has starred in a new ground-breaking TV series on BBC Three.

Bradley Butler is part of The Unbreakables, a three part series which started on Thursday, following the lives of teenagers with disabilities at National Star College based in Gloucestershire.

Bradley has cerebral palsy and Klippel-Feil syndrome, a rare skeletal condition in which there is an abnormal fusion of two or more bones of the spinal column within the neck.

The cameras follow the determined 22-year-old as he works hard campaigning to become student union president at the specialist college.

"I will have a laugh but I am taking this very seriously. No one is going to stand in my way," he said.

Bradley is unsuccessful, beaten by incumbent Nathan Mattick and initially he is crushed by the news but it is revealed that he achieved the third most votes and is praised for his campaign.

Following the result announcement, college Principal Kathryn Rudd, offers him a position as the college's deputy student ambassador for the A Right Not A Fight campaign where students with disabilities from across the UK voice their concerns about being blocked from accessing the colleges of their choice.

Bradley happily accepts the role.

Due to Bradleys condition everyday tasks are extremely difficult and one tutor comments that if Bradley manages to make his own breakfast and a cup of tea by the end of year that would be an huge achievement.

The college aims to teach students life skills which they can use in the outside world.
