A REDDITCH man is to star in a new ground-breaking TV series on BBC Three.

Bradley Butler is part of The Unbreakables, which follows the lives of teenagers with disabilities at National Star College based in Gloucestershire.

The cameras follow the 22-year-old as he runs for student union president at the specialist college.

Bradley has cerebral palsy and Klippel-Feil syndrome, a rare skeletal condition in which there is an abnormal fusion of two or more bones of the spinal column within the neck.

Known at the college as the “ambassador of fun”, Bradley says his main mission in life is to make people happy.

“I know my role. I make people happy,” said Bradley.

“People talk to me. If anything is worrying them they come to me and I try to solve their problems.”

Bradley has spent three years at college studying performing arts and sport.

He is also a passionate campaigner and was one of the college’s ambassadors for A Right Not A Fight campaign where students with disabilities from across the UK voice their concerns about being blocked from accessing the colleges of their choice.

“Students don’t want to be messed around and want to make their own decisions,” said Bradley.

“Families are getting worried because funding can be difficult to get for places likes National Star.”

Bradley hopes to continue to study at Heart of Worcestershire College in the autumn.

The film crew spent nine months making The Unbreakables which begins on BBC Three tomorrow Thursday, July 30 at 9pm.

“It was great being filmed. Now I’m going to be famous,” said Bradley.
