RESIDENTS are being invited to a special service for Nepal quake victims and survivors.

The service, organised by the Kingdom Vision Christian Fellowship which is based in Oakenshaw, and St Stephens Church, will hear stories of survivors who were there when the earthquake struck.

They will be telling people about their work and their real life experiences surviving a 7.9 scale quake and what people can do to help to bring relief to the country.

Boon Yeng, helping to organise the event, said: "We were all shocked by the devastation that the earthquake caused in Nepal on April 25 this year.

"For days our news channels updated us on the death toll and the destruction that affected hundreds of thousands. Vivid images of collapsed buildings, broken lives, desperate needs.

"Nearly two months hence, it is no longer news-worthy, but the suffering remains."

The service is on Sunday, July 5 at St Stephens Church, in Redditch town centre, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
