AFTER seeing a story in last week's Advertiser about a group of gaming enthusiasts re-creating the battle of Waterloo to commemorate its 200th anniversary, one Redditch man has got in touch to say he has gone one, or slightly more than one, better.
Richard Gosling, from Winyates East, has two sheds in his back garden which he uses to re-create battles - the most recent being Waterloo which was fought on June 18 1815, near Waterloo in present-day Belgium, then part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.
However, not only has Mr Gosling re-created Waterloo but almost every other epic battle fought in history.
Speaking about his time-consuming hobby Mr Gosling, who has been collecting figures and making the boards for the last 40 years, said: "Over the years I have been collecting wargaming figures and re-creating battles. During this time I've re-created Gettysburg, Naseby, The Alamo, War of Roses, Zulu, and many many more."
