LANDSCAPING on Redditch’s highways has come to a stop while Worcestershire County Council carries out essential repairs.

This work is expected to take place until July 13 as the county council’s highways team carries out barrier repairs at Coventry, Warwick, Alvechurch, Bromsgrove and Alcester highways.

This is extensive work and to prevent traffic problems the county has requested that the borough council suspends its usual early summer maintenance closures until after they have completed their works .

So Redditch Council’s landscaping team is ready to pick up its tools to mow the grass, cut back hedges and pick up litter, as soon as the work is complete.

Redditch Council leader Bill Hartnett said: "I hope residents bear with us as we wait for our partners to carry out this essential work – and rest assured as soon as we can we will make sure our verges are once again look neat and tidy."
