HIT The Deck is an annual all day music festival celebrating rock, metal and alternative genres.

The event, held in Nottingham and Bristol, attracts hundreds of live music lovers and festival fanatics.

This year's Nottingham edition was held over several venues in the city, including the Rock City main hall and basement, Rescue Rooms, Stealth and at the Dr Martens store near Market Square.

The 2015 headliners were Welsh alternative rock, reggae and punk band Skindred supported by popular names including Canadian punk band Cancer Bats and Sheffield metalcore band While She Sleeps.

In the Rock City basement, Croydon rockers Bad Sign managed to generate a solid crowd and wowed with their unique sound and incredible vocals from front man Joe Appleford.

As the sounds of their crisply thrashed out guitar notes marked the end of their set, the group made its way through the crowds picking on individual audience members and giving them their own up close and personal performance.

Progressive metal band Monuments took to the main hall stage in the early evening, giving a refreshing performance and successfully getting the crowds prepared for a night of moshing.

Far from Rock City rookies Cancer Bats have played at the venue on many occasions. The band, who are sometimes referred to as Bat Sabbath have released five studio albums and six extended plays, took their place on the main hall stage.

Crowd-pleasers, Cancer Bats, performed a tremendous rendition of the Beastie Boys' track Sabotage and quipped about missing contact lenses and mobile phones.

As the stage plunged into darkness, flocks of people sought out the best place to view While She Sleeps.

The almost packed out venue saw fans screaming every word to their well-known tracks including Torment and Our Legacy, from their newest album, Brainwashed.

Headliners Skindred have been around almost two decades creating a sound which takes inspiration from a wide variety of genres.

Bellowing their very first song Kill The Power, this is clearly what the audience have been waiting for and a mixture of chaos, utter excitement and enjoyment washes throughout the busy venue.

To keep visitors entertained between acts, stalls with merchandise, clothing, sweets and body crafts were available to purchase and free hair chalking, styling and trims were also up for grabs from Nottingham salon Twenty Eight Barbers.

After a successful 2015 Hit The Deck, how will organisers top this year's line up?
