THE UKIP candidate for Redditch has labelled arson attacks on three election banners “pathetic.”
The incidents happened around Bromsgrove Road and Mount Pleasant between 10am on Sunday, April 12 and Monday, April 13.
A police spokesman said: "All three banners appear to have been damaged by fire."
Peter Jewell, UKIP's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Redditch, said: “It is irritating and pathetic really. I wouldn’t go around pulling down other signs.
Officers investigating the incident spoke to nearby residents and local businesses but no one had seen anything.
He added: I don’t think for one minute it is one of the other party officials. I shall be pushing them (police) for an arrest.”
Anyone with any information is being asked to call West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number, 101, quoting incident reference number 22DE/24603R/.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111.
