A FEMALE cyclist was assaulted whilst riding her bike between Astwood Bank and Weethley near Redditch.

Three or four perpetrators driving an older style black hatchback car shouted abuse at the woman before one of them squirted washing-up liquid in her face.

The man who assaulted the victim is described as in his twenties and was in the front passenger seat.

The driver of the vehicle almost knocked the woman from her bike during the attack and the car then drove away in the direction of Weethley Gate.

PC Gordon O'Haodha: “This incident has been very distressing for the victim.

“This sort of behaviour whilst on the road is so dangerous and could have very easily turned incredibly serious had the victim come off her bike.”

The incident happened on the A441 Evesham Road on Tuesday, April 21 at 7pm.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident no. 334 of Wednesday, April 22.
