Redditch day centre set to mark Dementia Awareness Week
A REDDITCH day centre is set to host a Memories and Muffins afternoon to mark Dementia Awareness Week.
Valuing Individual People (VIP), based at The Barn, The Craft Centre, Winyates, will be holding the event on Friday, May 15 where the mayor of Redditch, Pat Witherspoon, will be in attendance.
The event is being organised by Age Uk’s dementia advisor, Carolyn Pym, who has run similar successful events in the past.
The centre is designed to support people living with all types of dementia, sensory impairments and disabilities by encouraging them to take part in activities and hobbies and enjoy remaining strengths and abilities.
Entry is free with a £1 charge for refreshments to cover costs.
