THE executive producer of Top Gear has quit the motoring show in the wake of Jeremy Clarkson’s departure.

The BBC tonight confirmed Andy Wilman had left the long-running series, but would not say whether or not the decision was related to the outspoken presenter.

Clarkson was suspended by the BBC last month during an internal investigation after he attacked Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon, splitting his lip and verbally abusing him.

Clarkson’s contract was not renewed, with director-general Tony Hall saying “a line has been crossed” and “there cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another”.

BBC Three’s latest comedy offering sees unwitting real-life celebrity “rookies” join a dirty cop to help solve a murder.

Murder In Successville is set in the fictional city of Successville and populated entirely by seedy imaginations of celebrities.

Each week the celebrities will join forces with DI Sleet (Tom Davis) to crack the cases under increasingly surreal and stressful circumstances.

Guest stars in the series will be Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, Radio 1 DJ Greg James, ‘Dragon’ Deborah Meaden, former X-Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, and Olympian Louis Smith.

STRICTLY Come Dancing has recruited one of the stars of the US version of the show for its new series following the departure of two of last year’s professional dancers.

Russian-born Gleb Savchenko is joining after a stint as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars and will be joined by Italian Giovanni Pernice and South African Otlile Mabuse.

Last year’s professionals Iveta Lukosiute and Trent Whiddon will be leaving the show.
