THE fruitful saga continues this year for Headless Cross Community Orchard.

Celebrating, in Star Wars style, the group will host its annual May Fayre on May 4 (considered a holiday by Star Wars fans to celebrate the franchise's films series, books, and culture).

The fair, at Headless Cross Green, will include a Star Wars themed scarecrow competition and ceremonial opening at 11am by a special guest from an orchard far, far away.

Families, groups and individuals are invited to bring their own Star Wars themed scarecrow in time for judging at 2pm.

Stalls will include local crafts, food and goods from community groups. For children there is Jedi Juice, face-painting, games and wildlife activities.

The ubiquitous Human Fruit Machine will also be there, as will award-winning Tardebigge Cider.

Orchard volunteer Lee Jennings said: "We're set for an intergalactic event, with lots for people to see and do."

Headless Cross Community Orchard is on Birchfield Road (opposite Morris Mica).
